In June 2023, we renewed our calls to the FT to demand they drop high-carbon ads from their pages, following the ASA ban of an advert for oil & gas company Repsol featured promoted in the media
In March 2023, we coordinated an open letter calling out European Athletics over Shell’s sponsorship of the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul.
In February 2023, we wrote to the Financial Times to ask the paper to remove a greenwash advertisement for oil and gas firm Repsol, and to introduce a ban on high carbon advertising.
In January 2022, we wrote to Merseytravel authority asking them to consider adopting a policy to ban high-carbon advertising - car adverts in particular - across their estates.
In December 2022, we and other NGOs wrote to the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport warning about the limits of the Advertising Association’s AdNetZero programme and calling on tobacco-style regulations on high-carbon advertising.
In November 2022, we wrote to TfL asking them to introduce a clause to their advertising policy to screen-out high-carbon ads - cars in particular - across their estates.
In November 2022, we wrote back to Network Rail, following our initial correspondence in September, asking them to introduce a clause to their advertising Code of Acceptance to screen-out high-carbon ads - cars in particular - across their network.
In February 2022 we wrote to leaders of Birmingham City Council asking they use the momentum of the CommonWealth Games in July 2022 to remove high-carbon adverts across the city for the duration of the Games.
